Exploratorium, 10 January 2010

Who needs that other chair? Amanda & Jeremy share the big chair. We're on an outing to the Exploratorium for Amanda's birthday. Probably Beth's, too, since it's just 2 days before. But definitely on Amanda's birthday.

Separate chairs. (Are separate vacations next!?)

Angel. From the Exposition held at the Palace of Fine Arts in 1915. (The internet rocks.)

The eye.

Me!

Brain!

Brain surgery...

...projected on a curtain.

Yeah, this was cooler in 3-d, but I still like it.

Just follow these simple instructions... Beth describes the pattern she's made to Amanda.

How'd I do?

Pretty darned close... just like Amanda & Beth. :)

Beth, her hair dried.

Kiddos! That's Jack, Beth, Emily, Amanda & Jeremy.

Jeremy, Amanda & Emily.

Bacteria!

This is neat stuff - bacteria growing between plates of plexiglass.

The skeleton in the closet. (I take my skeleton everywhere I go.)

After the Exploratorium, we walked down the street to the Musee Mechanique, now at Pier 45... coin-operated dancers!

Death race! Old school, but one of the newer games in the place.

This one's my favorite. The coffin lid opens & the wino turns his head & all sorts of other stuff happens.

A coin-operated opium den. Huh.

Dusk from Swiss Louis, my favorite restaurant at Pier 39. I've discovered a Photoshop effect called Diffuse Glow & I'm mad with photo editing power!
